Graveyard of Ukrainian Civilization

Today I visited a few amazing places that illustrate what victory of man over machine in the Terminator setting would likely look like. Scrapyards.

Of course, one may be surprised of the dramaticism of the title. After all, scrapyards exist all over the world and it's not really something over-strange. However, there are four or five major ones in just this town alone - a town with a population of 30-ish thousand. A town with no waste processor or the likes to explain the reason behind the large amount of such lovely places. They're actually here for a different reason, namely, for purchasing various metals according to their weight. Essentially, these are places where people sell stolen things, ranging from old frying pans to train rails to graveyard crosses and fences.

On top of these large points, there are dozens of unofficial collector points. While factories, roads, everything deteriorates, people have all these convenient ways to sell off what little remains of the horrible Soviet legacy. Makes one warm and fuzzy inside!

  3. Shadows, it was.
Before, I managed to roll lowest on pants, lowest on chest, second lowest on helmet (second only to Essy, which basically means .. lowest!) and second lowest (5 - Colt rolled a 1) on shoulders. In the very end however, Alqua got the chain fragment and I got Avorchrist ... after a frighteningly smooth Balrog-kill (mightily blown away by yours truly - no outside cheering this time!).

Yesterday however ... oh my. I guess, cockiness, sloppiness and a certain amount of haste added together with slight book14-anomalies combined into the bumpiest run one could ever imagine from the Shadows. No, actually it was far bumpier than one could have ever imagined.

We still brought down Thrang however, Alqua took home the robe, I got my leggings and Essy won the helmet, finally completing her set. And it was, in an instructive and somewhat masochistic way, still entertaining. And now I'm going to log on and pay my ~700 silver repair bill ;D

  5. Omg my mailbox will soon overflow at this rate.

@Rem - Yeah, sounds like some of the Shadows runs - remember me complaining some of the times about the incredibly stupid mistakes? Now you get to see what I mean.

What do you mean about the anomalies, though?

  6. Nothing I could really put my finger on, to be honest. It's just the usual procedure, that on patch day, people will blame every lag, every crash and every mistake they make on the new patch. Even if those very lags, crashes and mistakes happened just a week before as well.
